Dear Band Members,

Band camp is next week from wednesday to saturday. Please know that this is the time for intense practice. Please use the time from now till then to get into this correct mindset.

We have arranged the nights (from 930pm onwards) to be rest time. We can watch movies, do some homework or maybe go out to eat supper at Jalan Kayu! Students whose results have not been ideal..........do not blame it totally on band. I am sure if you had been hardworking and planned your study times well, your results will be better. There are some of you whose grades have improved even this year......you know who you are.......

EVERY MEMBER MAKES A DIFFERENCE......

I've been to concerts by more established bands recently. These bands are Gold with Honours standard bands. They are huge bands. Some bands' clarinet section is bigger than our whole woodwind section. Some other bands have 5-10 tubas......

Thus, we cannot compete these bands for "power". We must:
1) Every member must play with intent. Every note you produce must be the nicest tone you
ever played. No "just play" attitude;
2) Clarity of articulation;
3) Have confidence! ( If 10 of you do not dare to play out loud and confidently, the band size will
effectively be only 35!!!!)
4) Have pride in your band. This is the first PHSSB debut performance in Singapore. Show what
a band less than 2 years old can do.

Enough said..........let's prove these in action...........
