Anywayz, with the end of the exams, band pracs will start very very soon! In fact, TOMORROW! Yupz, there are, though, a few major issues that hopefully will be resolved soon.
Firstly, the demands for the change of instruments. I just want to tell you guys, and hopefully for the last time, that all demands for changing instruments are forbidden and unacceptable. Though you may say our previous instructor Mr Siao will allow that, fact is we are now under the baton of 2 completely different instructors with totally different expectations and goals for the band. And indeed, nonsense about change of instruments is intolerable! Do understand that once you are in a section, you will remain there unless we have to have you change sections. Enough said, I hope I don't come across and pointing anyone out here (I'm not) and I hope you will understand that in this situations, things are only made more difficult when such issues arise. So please, do spare a thought and cherish your time in the band!
Next, there are a few cases of people wanting to quit band. We are definitely not begging you guys to stay, you make the decision. But we definitely would do our part to persuade you to stay! Being in the band for up to 3 years now for some of you, you should realise the bonds you have made with your fellow bandmates. Striving for excellence in the band is difficult, and everyone is heading to that direction. Not knowing your notes & rhythm AND not wanting to learn them is something that makes band life hard for you. When you do not know something, ASK! :D Everyone will help, I'm sure! Through this, everyone learns as well! Do not make life hard for yourself whenever such 'failures' or 'mishaps' occur! YOU know YOU can do it! So why not try! One very bad habit is that you only start learning your pieces when band practices are carried out. WRONG WAY!!!!!!!!! You got to learn them before hand!!!!! That's self responsibility and everyone should be responsible for themselves! :)
Furthermore, band isn't stressful. For those who think it is, it's definitely because you do not possess the basic fundamentals of music. Note-reading and rhythm sense are one of the many important things you have to know when you're in the band! If you do not do, once again, I urge you to ASK ASK ASK!!!!! There are countless people who know how to read notes, and know how to 'read' rhythm as well! You can approach them anytime, I'm sure!!! SO!!! NEVER be discouraged and stressed out if you feel like you're being 'tortured' for not knowing how to play. Fact is you guys know, and it's only up to you to decide whether you want to be proficient with your instrument.
Everyone has high hopes for us, I do not want to see these kinds of issues arising again! :D I'm trying my best to lead, Pauline and the rest of the EXCO are equally striving to make the band the 'CCA' of the school, and furthermore, making band the CCA which produces matured and sensible young adults! And without you guys' efforts, nothing can be achieved.
Now with the end of the exams already, I'll try my best to make a new layout for the blog (kind of disgusted by now right!) and also everyone, let's put in our best now that the exams are over! Put in your 100% and we'll do it together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SEC 1s PLEASE TAKE NOTE. BAND PRACS FOR YOU ALL FROM NOW ON WILL BE ON
