West Winds returns in another collaboration with Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay, to bring audiences on yet another journey through music. From Japan in 2008 to Europe in 2009, West Winds returns to a region that is close to our hearts and in our own backyard - Asia.Asia is regarded by many as an eclectic yet charming mix of rich, diverse and colourful cultures with this clearly reflected in our food and music. This evening, West Winds will bring you across the eastern and northern hemispheres of Asia, from China to Saudi Arabia. Audiences will get to hear a musical representation of each Asian region from Alfred Reed's "Armenian Dances Part 1" to our very own "Postcard from Singapore" written by international and noteworthy composer Philip Sparke.Conducting this evening's concert will be MAJ Philip Tng and our Guest Conductor, Yasuhide Ito.
